The EMPOWERED women's retreat is a day to reflect, worship and be renewed. No matter what we're facing, the Psalms meet us where we are to strengthen our hearts. So pause the rush of life and come nourish your soul.

Get to know a little about our event leaders below and, please, join us!

Stephanie Seefeldt - Worship Leader

Stephanie Seefeldt was born and raised in Wisconsin. After earning her music degree from the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point she pursued God’s call on her life: to serve as a “throne room usher” for the worshiping church, and to declare the glory of God in venues as varied as the downtown cathedral and the local piano bar. With a passion for ancient hymnody, Watts, Wesley, and 80’s music, her musical styles are diverse with a focus on Christ-exalting texts.

Most importantly, she’s wife to the Reverend Scott, Rector of Zion Episcopal Church in Oconomowoc, and mom to four emerging (and emerged!) young adults, ranging in age from 14-23. She has spent almost 30 years leading worship around the world with many notable teachers, but her passion continues to be the glory of God on full display in the local church.

"But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works." Psalm 73:28

Krissy Lindmark - Master of Ceremonies & Pep

Krissy enjoys traveling to visit friends and family, working at her family’s business, and winter adventures that involve speed. She is a non-traditional woman and does not crave chocolate, social media, pumpkin spice lattes, or apple picking. Krissy lives in Hartland with her husband Joe and three kiddos. She is empowered by Christ and the work of grace that he's done in her life.

“How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.” Psalm 36: 7-9

Jen Boucher - Keynote Speaker

Jen has a deep passion for God and His Word, and desires to share that with others around her. She does this first in her home with her husband of 24 years and her seven children, currently ages 8-22. She enjoys teaching Bible studies, leading book discussions and seeing people grow in their relationship with God.

"Our God is in the heavens; He does all that he pleases." Psalm 115:3

Plenary Session #1
- Captivating Psalms

The Psalms can certainly captivate. They teach us to feel and help us to bring all our emotions confidently to the God who created all our feelings and emotions. Jen will walk us through four different categories of Psalms to see how we are empowered to praise, lament, give thanks, and be wise. As we unpack the Psalms, we will come to experience the soul health God intends for us.

Shari Langusch - Keynote Speaker

Shari is a life-long learner and communicator of God’s goodness with a heart for helping others immerse in his word. She has worked a decade in media, and two decades in ministry at churches in Indiana and Wisconsin creating programs to engage the hearts of children and adults with the living Word. She and her husband have raised one kind and beautiful daughter who is now a university teacher. Shari is a reader with too many books, a passionate gardener with mixed results and loves to let her fingers dance on ivory.

“O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.” Psalm 71:17-18

Plenary Session #2
- Capturing the Psalms

Learn to capture the riches of the Psalms through story, memory and imagination. Then see how their goodness, challenge and truth strengthen your soul for the curving chaos of life. What we soak in and absorb most deeply, most impacts who we are and how we live and respond to life. In this session, Shari explores techniques to smooth the way and strengthen us in God's Word.

Abigail Wallace - Keynote Speaker

Abigail is a writer and Bible teacher whose greatest joys come from helping women grow strong in their faith as they learn to look through their trials to the loving hand of God. She lives in a little house in the big woods with her husband of 25 years and two teen sons. Abigail enjoys long, deep talks and long, fast walks with friends, strong coffee and sunsets. Check out her first book, “MEEK NOT WEAK: A 12-Week Guide to the Gentle Strength of Meekness” at the book table. Join the JoyfullyPressingOn community on Facebook or Instagram or the JoyfullyPressingOn blog.

"You are good and do good; teach me your statutes." Psalm 119:68

Plenary Session #3
- Captioned by the Psalms

How do we make sense of our lives’ emotional, up and down, stories? How do we caption our life stories? It helps to know that of all the emotions we face—from sadness, fear, and shame to gladness, contentment and delight — there is hardly an emotion not addressed in the Psalms. Sharing vivid snapshots from her life, Abigail shows us how we can use the language of the Psalms to caption our lives and frame our experiences and emotions to the glory of God.
